The current OpenStreetMap Foundation representative for the region is Graeme Fitzpatrick and Graeme is active on both Slack and Discord and always happy to assist.
State of the Map is the name for the annual local and global conferences on OpenStreetMap. This year (2025), the SotM for Oceania is yet to be confirmed but will not be part of the FOSS4G Auckland Conference in November.
Where to get help and connect
Importing data into OpenStreetMap
Prior to importing data from any third-party or your own significant data, you will need to work through the import process. It is really important that only data that has the appropriate waivers and copyright requirements is imported and documented correctly. If you have any queries regarding this, hit the links above.
Importing data into Crisis and emergency mapping
OSGeo Oceania collaborates with the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team and can generate projects and assist with crisis mapping and other tasked based group mapping in the region. There are two platforms that we can provide access to so please reach out to the above key contact links if you need further.
